Natural gas electric heater is use to heat natural gas in transmission pipeline to prevent freezing during pressure reduction. The compact size of the electric process heater and accurate temperature control are seen as a superior method of natural gas heating .

The power generation industry uses electric heater to heat the fuel gas. Fuel gas heater provides the necessary super heat to prevent condensation of the natural gas. The renewable energy commonly uses heater as a means of energy storage.  Petrochemical industry commonly uses electric heater to heat up specific process and in regeneration service.
